PinkChat Community Guidelines

Everyone on PinkChat is a real person on the other side of a camera. These rules exist so that stays a good thing. They are short, and they apply to all of us.

  • Be kind
  • Keep it legal
  • Report what is wrong

The spirit of it

Treat the person in front of you the way you would want to be treated by a stranger who just walked into your room. Most of what follows is just that, written out.

PinkChat is for adults. If you are under 18, please do not use it. Our terms of service set out who may join.

What we ask you to do

  • Be respectful. You can disagree and you can end a chat. You cannot demean someone.
  • Respect a no. If someone declines something, the conversation carries on without it or it ends.
  • Keep it honest. Do not pretend to be somebody else to trick or pressure anyone.
  • Protect your own privacy and other people's. The safety tips list the habits worth having.
  • Use report and block when something is wrong.

What is not allowed

  • Harassment, hate, threats or bullying of any kind.
  • Anything involving minors. There are no exceptions.
  • Sexual content, or pressure to show or do things someone has not agreed to.
  • Scams, requests for money, phishing links and spam.
  • Recording, capturing or sharing another person's call, picture or messages without permission.
  • Sharing someone else's personal details, or attempts to find out where they live.
  • Bots, scripts and automation, and any attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Anything illegal where you are or where the other person is.

When someone breaks a rule

  1. 1

    Someone reports it

The report goes to us with the details needed to review it.

  2. 2

    We review it

Depending on what happened, we may warn the person, limit what they can do, or close their account.

  3. 3

    Serious cases go further

Where the law requires it, or where someone is at risk, we may involve the authorities.

Closing an account is described in the terms. We will not always explain a decision in detail, because that can put the person who reported at risk.

How to report

On a call, use the report option on the call screen, then tap Next. For something serious, or if you need to reach a person, use the contact page. If anyone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.

Changes

We may update these guidelines as the service grows. The newest version is always on this page. The help center has quick answers if something is unclear.
