How it works

How to Start a Pink Video Chat, Button by Button

There are only a few things to learn, and you can learn them in the minute before your first match. Here is the whole thing, from allowing your camera to saying goodbye.

  • Three simple steps
  • No sign-up to look around
  • Skip any time

Before you start: what you need

Very little. If your device can show a web page and has a camera and microphone, you are ready.

  • A current browser. Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, updated in the last year or so.
  • A camera and microphone you are happy to allow. Voice and text modes need less.
  • A steady connection. Wi-Fi is better than mobile data for longer chats.
  • Two minutes to check how you look and sound before you go live.

Start a pink video chat in three steps

  1. 1

Open the site and allow your camera

Your browser asks once for camera and microphone access. Say yes. If you are on a phone, you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

  2. 2

Pick a mode and tap Start

Choose video, voice or text, then Start. You join the queue and are matched with someone who is online right now.

  3. 3

    Chat, or tap Next

Stay as long as the chat is good. When it is not, tap Next and you are matched with a new person.

If you want to know what you are walking into, a pink video call starts with a few nervous seconds and then settles into an ordinary conversation.

The buttons on a call

Next

Ends this chat and starts matching you with someone new. Nobody sees why.

Microphone

Mutes you without ending the call. Tap again to unmute.

Camera

Turns your picture off and on. Handy when you need a moment.

What is free and what uses coins

You get a few free matches every day, and the number left appears on the Start button. When those run out, you can wait for tomorrow or top up. Longer or premium sessions use coins, and the price is shown before you spend. Nothing is charged for looking around.

The same rules apply on a phone and on a laptop.

Text, voice and video: which should you pick?

If you are nervous, start with text. If you want to hear a person but not be seen, try voice. If you want the full thing, go video. All three modes are covered in talk to strangers, and you can pick differently every time.

If you prefer to keep each call to exactly two people, read about 1 on 1 video chat.

When something goes wrong

  1. Black picture or no sound: check browser permissions for camera and microphone, then reload.
  2. Frozen picture: move closer to your router or switch to Wi-Fi.
  3. Echo: use headphones.
  4. Someone behaving badly: tap Next, then report and block. The safety tips cover what to look for.
  5. Still stuck: the help center has more answers, or you can write to us.
